The Metal Button On My Bluejeans Popped Out. How Do I Repair?
Howdy,
My trackpad popped out and I am but wondering if there is a quick ready to this consequence. The trackpad is nevertheless able to soft click and move the cursor, merely dragging and hard clicking does non piece of work. I would rather not have to transport information technology abroad for this small issue. If at that place is a solution I would appreciate the help.
Thank you.

May I know what happen?
Was there some point that the device been dropped?
This may need a physical technician to render back to its normal land. I would suggest to visit a local Microsoft store for further assistance.

Hi, I had this problem come up a couple months agone (after my warranty expired). I carry it in a case in my haversack and dry make clean my Surface Laptop oft and carefully. I went online to figure out how much it would cost to repair the trackpad at my local Microsoft Store, and I was quoted almost $500--nothing else was wrong with it too the trackpad popping out. I looked up related forums to come across if anyone had luck with MS Customer Support, this one frustrated me: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/surface/forum/all/surface-laptop-1-trackpad-popped-out/19d73add-cd3f-42ca-8b08-bd2496ffde16?folio=2. That'south infuriating, I decided to not even try going down the pigsty of tech help--how can your ain store not conduct the tools to replace your laptop, and how can you fifty-fifty release a product designed similar this? I looked upward how to repair it myself and found this cute video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xAI6yIZI3rg
. I decided that I couldn't go third party because of how difficult it is to replace, and I definitely wouldn't be able to fix it myself.
Looked like there was no help from Microsoft and in that location'south no condom way to do this myself, so I decided I would only take to bargain with not difficult-clicking anymore. I taped up the end that was exposed in society to prevent debris from entering (I'chiliad a broke college kid). My luck ran out today when my cursor became unresponsive, leading me to research this topic once over again. Information technology took me 30 minutes to type this because my cursor keeps highlighting items and moving around, I'll take to disable my trackpad and just rely on my mouse from now on. Since your warranty is good, just get it replaced ASAP; if you don't, you lot probably but accept a few months left.
Don't buy the Surface Laptop, and don't buy the Surface Laptop 2. They have similar problems, especially when information technology comes to disassembly https://world wide web.youtube.com/watch?v=eShF-PFQfAk
. Not sure who idea it was a good thought to make the laptop impossible to detach, but who actually decided it was okay to do it AGAIN? I thought Apple tree was supposed to be the inoperable computer, not you guys.

I had the same problem. Just purchase a wireless mouse if you don't already accept one, that's the best solution.
